[You wake up on a cold metal bed in a room that is unfamiliar to you.

How long have you been out for? Why does your head hurt? Why can't you remember how you got here?

Before you find the answer to these questions, you might want to check out that hand-written note. There's one in every room.

Dear [NAME],

Thank you for volunteering to participate in the experiment. With your help, this project should be quite successful. My name is Huey Laforet, and I am the one responsible for this experiment. I will be here observing and the point of my project will be revealed by the end.

Your goal today is to find the exit. To do so, you'll need three card keys. However, to activate them, you will need the item listed on the card to move forward. You might not be able to find everything by searching, but certainly, there are other ways to get what you need. I've left them scattered about,

If you fail to escape by the time the experiment is over, you will have to participate in further experiments with me. If you succeed, then you will be able to successfully leave the maze.

I wish you luck. Try to stay alive.

Ow. [ Pulls his hand back to inspect/pout at a cut on his palm. ]

I think it's knives.

...Good, that's useful. Let's get them out.

[ Gonna just go ahead and rip at the upholstery now, rip chair. ]

[Will come over and help!]

[as soon as you rip the chair, shards of sharp metal shoot out, almost like an explosion. you probably won't be able to avoid them all.]

[oh, but hey. a cardkey pops out too]

[Um. I think that we are probably not getting out of this unscathed. Shielding his face with his arms and leaping back. Sorry Clear he doesn't have time to push you out of the way.]

[ Clear doesn't really think to dodge, but luckily even if the sharp objects were to hit his face he's wearing a thick metal mask so they just ricochet right off! ]

[ His shoulders aren't so lucky however as he gets a couple of shrapnel pieces stuck... and that hurts. ]

A..ahh.. no, I'm sorry! Are you alright!?

[ He turns to check on Sion immediately. ]

[One of his arms is badly torn up along the forearm and there are nicks all over his torso, but it could be worse.]

...Fine. [He gives Clear a once over, checking the damage before looking at the key card.]

Is that what we're looking for...?

But your arm... [ He says despite having actual metal sticking out of his body right now. ]

... Mm?

[ Picks up the keycard Sion indicates. ]

I guess it is! [ Flips it around trying to read it. ] It says we need...?

[UM. Reaches out to stop him.]

You're injured.

[ Ah-- well he got the card anyways. ]

... it's alright! It hurts, but it won't kill me.

[ Says cheerfully, absolute certainty, 100% will not die from this! ]

Fine. We've two more to go. Let's get looking.

Ok. Since we already found the one in this room, we should probably go to another room.

[ Suggests-- oh yeah and. ]

It says we need a hand.

.... We'll get someone else's. There's a door but I don't trust it, too obvious. Do you want to stick together or split up?

Someone else's... hand?

[ 8( no... ]

... in this sort of situation, I think it's better to stick together.

Better than one of ours.

[All business mode here. This is too much like Di[e]ce]

I agree though. Sticking together increases our chances of winning and survival. Are you immune to pain?

. . . how about we wait to decide that until we get the rest of the cards?

[ He wanders towards the three holes, kind of bending down to peer through them from a safe distance as he talks. ]

You seem like you've done this kind of thing before, Mr. Sion.

[they are completely dark]

There are bodies outside, they won't need their hands if we want to go that way.

[He approaches the glowing orange hole for his part, cautiously peeking from a distance.]

I have, this is very similar to a game called Di[e]ce. I'll consider you my partner for now, and our objective survival. A time limit is likely in place or some other "lose" condition.

Hmmmm...

[ The masked freak gives a thoughtful hum as he picks up a piece of rubble and chucks it down the hole closest to his right side. ]

We could do that I guess. ... but why do you suppose there are bodies out there in the first place? It's mysterious.

[ Just gonna go ahead and toss rubble down each of those holes to see what happens actually. ]

Failed experiments. A trap. They might be rigged with biological weapons, they might not even be dead.

Ehhhh? Those sorts of things only happen in movies though!

... right?
